Point Nowhere

The Summary

Point Nowhere an illustrated story that goes on to narrate their lives from childhood to old age. In 1960's Georgia, two farm boys, Dale and Feargus, meet at childhood and form a deep bond they don't quite understand. They face the struggle of their emotions, upbringings, and relationships both together and separately, while employing their natural connection to music.

I approached each digital painting with a bit more-than-average traditional mindset; minimal or a single layer, minimal or no linework, and with generally looser brush work.

Dale's Lament

Music is a big part of Point Nowhere. It comes natural to the two main characters, and it's a form of language for them to understand each other. I composed Dale's Lament to convey Dale's emotion at the time, and to feel like a conversation between the two of them; Dale being the fiddle and Feargus being the resonator slide guitar.
